Ithaca Underground Spring All Volunteer Meeting

Come one, come all to the Ithaca Underground All Volunteer meeting! This is the best way to get involved with IU for the first time, or to reconnect if you’ve been away.

We will be meeting on Thursday February 22nd at 7:00 PM at the Borg Warner Room at Tompkins County Public Library

Food will be provided!

Volunteering for IU is a great way to meet friends, gain experience, build your resume, and get into IU shows FOR FREE!

We have open volunteer positions for:
– Poster design
– Flyering
– Sound engineering
– Photo / Video
– Post production
– Door / Merch sales
– Fundraising & grant writing

Full training is provided for all of these positions!

Naked Noise #8 Saturday!

Ithaca’s premier experimental music event Naked Noise returns, with this annual large ensemble of improvised ritual drone featuring Sarah Hennies, Michael Stark, Josh Oxford, Heather Fae, Beau Mahadev, Chris Knight, members of The Kraken Quartet, Ithaca New Music Collective, Tender Cruncher, BRIAN!, No-Comply, otodojo, MONKI, Lady D & The Shadow Spirits, Monolith, and What Nerve. Queer Sounds Ithaca + Ithaca Underground: Jason Kahn, Sarah Hennies, Ben Owen

Jason Kahn’s performances explore the physical and spiritual limits of breath, stretching the
voice to its breaking point. The disintegration of each vocal gesture leads to the next, creating a
structure where what remains with each evacuating breath creates a context for the entire piece. In partnership with Queer Sound Ithaca.
