Sammus is the stage name adopted by Ithaca, NY producer, rapper, activist, and PhD student Enongo Lumumba-Kasongo. Known as much for her rousing stage presence as she is for her prowess as a beatmaker and lyricist, Sammus has spent the past several years cultivating a strong following of activists, hip hop heads, punks, and self-proclaimed nerds and geeks, among others. Now ready to make her Don Giovanni debut, she is poised to cement herself as an artist who consistently thinks outside boxes and dances across lines (and does other neat things with geometrical figures).
¡Viva Mayhem! is an 8-piece high-energy ska/punk band out of Ithaca, New York. There have been a few changes in the line-up since we started as ‘Mayhem Attack Squad’ in the fall of 2013, so try to keep up.
Cold Sweats is a 3 piece punk band with roots in Ithaca and surrounding areas.
Fall Creek Brass Band
The Fall Creek Brass Band’s (FCBB) headwaters are found in the funky beats, groovy bass lines, and hot licks hidden in the hills in the outskirts of Tompkins County. The waters of Fall Creek flow, at times slow and meandering and at times raucous and untethered, carrying this miasma of groove to Ithaca and surrounding towns where it infects the local population with an inescapable need to dance, sing, smile, and laugh. When the party ends, the waters of Fall Creek evaporate to travel back to their hilltop homes to rejuvenate their funk juices for the next party.Originally formed at Dryden High School a decade ago, FCBB has experienced a lot of evolution in that time. Graduation from high school dispersed the band’s original members far and wide and the band played only a handful of times in the past few years. However, a new cadre of Ithaca’s and Cortland’s funk masters have joined the band and Fall Creek has found itself reinvigorated with new life.In their inexhaustible effort to get the world up and shaking that groove thing, the Fall Creek Brass Band plays a wide variety of dance music from traditional New Orleans tunes to funk, hip-hop to rock and roll. Fall Creek can also be heard on their albums, Mad Fun and Fat Beats.
Mr McBean Local hip-hop artist/potential mind blower
Eyukaliptus Local Hip Hop/RnB singer and DJ
Spazzare is a heavy psychedelic grunge trio.
Lady D & The Shadow Spirits
Lady D & The Shadow Spirits builds a bridge between the ethereal expanse and the intimate whispers; their sound has a soulful punk folk-rock vibe with dynamic rhythm and graceful harmonies. Alyssa Duerksen never ceases to share a powerful performance that commands attention carves a path for the heart to soar and the feet to anchor.303775
Sunken Cheek is an Ithaca based experimental noise musician delving in the exploration of self through sound. Tapes, rhythm machines, feedback and amplified resonant objects make up the sound collage and disjointed pop-like pieces that bear the term ‘misery electronics’. Absence tethers, waits, then pulls.
No Aliens is a project in which their imaginary members take the stage as a computer, monkey, and a rapper. All performed by one person. The small screen plays visuals as he raps over prerecorded beats.
Participation Trophy Acoustic Folk-Punk/Anti-folk
Monolith is a sludge/doom metal band based out of the Cortland/Ithaca area
The duo, which features features Willie B on drums and Moog bass, combines Coogan’s three-octave soprano vocals, electric guitar soundscapes and pointed social commentary into a fierce cohesive group which combines the personal and the political, in a musical hybrid of rock, country, pop and classical opera into a unique whole.
Toto’s Magic Show
Toto’s Magic Show has been writing songs together for the past 2 years. It is a heavy, danceable, deep pocketed trio that consists of Dara Anissi (Hog-Tie Sessions, Mutron Warriors) on guitar, Abel McSurely-Bradshaw (Newman Brothers, Ithaca Bottom Boys) on bass, and Chris Bedell (Gadje) on drums.
Ithaca Bottom Boys
The Ithaca Bottom Boys are a local band of brothers that play in a unique melting pot of old-timey, bluegrass, and RnB-Soul music. They have been developing their collective work for the past six years, since some members were only 15 years old. Recent (mentionable) musical exploits include a mini-tour through Berlin hosted by the notorious Park Doing, a blowout Cabaret Hall concert at last years Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg, and a recent live music video of the bands self proclaimed opus: Some Are Beavers.
Teencat are a rock/punk band and Ithaca’s premier Catpop trio
Nancy Babich is a band. We play loud music and sing from the heart. Our genre inspirations are punk, metal, rock, and roll.
The Horses are a bunch of high school seniors playing our own all original musical. We love to sing our hearts out and make you dance.
